Internet safety for my students is one of the things I really stress. I applied for to be a Common Sense Educator through Common Sense Media because I believe they are an incredible organization who has taken a stand against bullying. Today I received this:
Congratulations! We are happy to let you know that we approved your application to become a Common Sense Educator. We are truly inspired by your devotion to teaching young people how to be safe, responsible digital citizens.
As promised, we will be shipping out fun materials to show our tangible thanks. Please expect a digital citizenship poster to decorate your classroom and a BPA-free, metal water bottle just for you, because we know how important it is to quench the thirst for knowledge. Also, your digital badge of recognition is attached. And if you provided your principal's email in your application, we will copy you on an email we¹ll send to him/her acknowledging the work you're doing. Lastly, we will enter you in the yearly raffle to win the latest tech gadget, the winner of which we'll announce in early July 2014.
Again, we appreciate your commitment to teaching digital citizenship to students. It's only common sense for us to work together, and we applaud your efforts.
Please contact schools@commonsense.org if you have any questions.
With gratitude,
Common Sense Media
^They sent me a very cool water bottle :)
